A genuine question - how can you wake up and think to yourself “I’m hella proud to be American”?

Back When College Was For The 99%
So why does your place of employment and its ilk raise their tuition costs by an average of 11% a year?
He’s right–tuition has skyrocketed and become unreasonable, but this didn’t happen because of some bizarre conspiracy to keep out the 99%. We are pushing more and more kids into college, even if they are not ready/interested. It happened because universities saw those sweet government loans and realized they could get more and more for tuition, and people would pay because of loans. So fix the problem on your end.
Wait, so according to him, back when education was considered a “public good” a student could work his way through college but now that the government owns the student loan industry and pours billions of dollars into the educational system, it’s a “private good” that students can’t afford? Another teacher that doesn’t understand the difference between public and private.
I’m more frustrated that college professors these days are so unbelievably incompetent and arrogantly ignorant.
